This is the story of 6 Tasmanian paddlers crossing Bass Strait in March 2011. Bass Strait has a reputation for a place not to be taken lightly and we intend to allow plenty of time to sit out bad weather and also to explore the islands we will be stopping at on the way across.

GT surgery
Today the GT goes to a fibreglass specialist to have a little surgery. Tomorrow I will mount the mast then it will finally be ready. Yesterday two of us paddled out 20kms into the middle of Storm Bay hoping for a forecast 20 knot seabreeze to push us back in. We had to be content with 10 knots, still enough to have fun and sail in but 20 would have been better!
